Reception Admissions
Applications timeline for Reception intake in September 2025 is:
- Applications can be made between Monday 4 November 2024 and Wednesday 15 January 2025
- National Offer Day for Reception places will be Tuesday 16 April 2025
- School places need to be accepted or declined by Wednesday 30 April 2025

Published Admission Number (PAN)
Merstham Primary School has an admission number of 30 for entry in Reception. The school will accordingly admit this number of pupils each year if there are sufficient applications. Where fewer applicants than the PAN are received, Merstham Primary School will offer places at the school to all those who have applied.
Transition into Merstham Primary School
- Welcome meeting to share school values and routines.
- The home visits is an informal opportunity to see your child in their familiar setting, home. Meet staff again and a chance to discuss any concerns. This will be booked for the first week the other years will return to school.
- Pre-school visits to ensure a smooth hand over of any information between early years professionals.
- Taster session (stay and play) at school to explore the classroom, meet teachers, support staff and new friends (in July).
